Daily Picture: 10

Part of the "30 day drawing challenge" I found on Deviant Art.

Today's theme was "Something from your childhood."

Bosco was a children's TV show that ran from 1978-1987. It continued to be shown until 1996.

Q: "Joe, what happened to Day 9?"
Ah, yes. I'm slipping a little with these daily pictures (as I expected, but it's still inexcusable as a personal challenge). Day 9's challenge was "Any form of Transport." Instead, I was out practising my driving. Close enough, right?

I still had time to draw, but didn't. I might still come back to it and upload a picture if I'm happy with it.

Daily Picture: 8

Part of the "30 day drawing challenge" I found on Deviant Art.

Today's theme was "Draw your star sign."

My star sign is Leo... so you might see where I was going with this.
I was having a difficult time trying to draw a lion. So I decided to draw a quick picture of Lion-O to experiment a bit more with the copic markers (I'm still bad and still using rubbish paper).

Daily Picture: 7 (coloured)

My new set of Copic Markers arrived this morning, so I decided to try them out on this picture (from earlier).

It was my first time using Copics and I used crap card paper, so needless to say the end result was always going to be far (very far!) from perfect.
I still have a lot of practice ahead of me.

Seeing this picture in colour, I am mortified by how bad the original drawing was. I was trying to be fancy with a cartoony style (big head on stylised bodies), but I can see this is a mess. Andy's left hand is drawn in such a way that his sleeve is telling me his arm is too short, but the hand itself is close enough.

I need a lot of pratice with traditional art. I have depended on Photoshop all these years for correcting mistakes.

Daily Picture: 7

Part of the "30 day drawing challenge" I found on Deviant Art.

Today's theme was "Favourite actor/ actress/ Movie Character."

I don't have a favourite actor (all though I am a fan of Tom Cruise). So I decided to draw an actor (or character) I was watching at the time of drawing this. I was watching "Uncle" on the BBC iplayer.
Okay, so that isn't anywhere near what the theme was, but I stayed with "actors."

The actors here are suppose to be Nick Helm (Andy/ Right) and Elliot Speller-Gillott (Errol/ Left).

I'm falling behind on uploading these pictures. I am actually doing them on the day... but then uploading them after midnight, or well into the next day.

Part of the "30 day drawing challenge" I found on Deviant Art.

Today's theme was "Redesign a book cover (that's not a movie)."

Daily Picture: 5 - Ninja Day (Japan).

Another picture that took longer than I liked for an unsatisfying result. I'm late posting this one too.

Today's theme was "Favourite TV cartoon character."

It was National Ninja Day in Japan (Feb 22) so I decided to draw my favourite ninja. I'm sure Japanese visitors will role their eyes and be quick to tell me that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles aren't real ninjas.

I also realised while thinking of TV cartoon shows that I couldn't think of any from the last 10 years. I am getting too old!! lol.

Daily Picture: 4

From the "30 day drawing challenge" I found on DeviantArt, today's theme is "Star Wars."

This took a lot longer than expected and is still unfinished! I thought it would be a quick doodle, but it ended up taking a long time drawing it into Photoshop and then I got too obsessive about the line quality, so that ended up taking even more time.
I am a fan of the Pod Racing scene from Episode One. I loved it so much I have the old PC game and the PlayStation 2 sequel.
