The Green Goblin invades the St Paddy's Parade...

I have here the pictures of the second head I was working on. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of it during the parade. I'm usually the photographer but instead I was asked to wear the

blasted thing instead.

I was up until 6am gluing the hair onto the head with a glue gun. The tip of my middle finger went numb because of the stiffness of the trigger. The hair is the only durable thing on this head!It was really difficult to hold. I had to hold onto the chin and just below the right check. As the wet day went on the places to hold became limited because of the paint and paper becoming damp! Tourists were all quick to take photos of it. There was even a point were I ended up walking too close to the crowd and was getting tapped on the arm for a photo. I couldn't see (but I could hear) so I wasn't really able to assist them.Unfortunately, the national school only came in 2nd (I heard that they came in 3rd last year). We lost to an even smaller neighbouring village school (that same school won overall prize too). The art centre didn't enter this year (result!?). I guess my first mistake was that that I didn't have a theme. The

kids (5th and 6th class) wore masks that they made using the papier-mache and balloons. They added loads of little things to them and painted them. They turned out really cool! It all looked like something the art centre should have done - very diverse and artistic.

This photo is after the parade. The rain and wind had done quite a number on the back of the head. It did well to cosmetically survive the day. Some damage did occur but only around the base of the head where it was sitting on my shoulders. The next day [today] however, the head dried again causing it to split and peel.
