It's just a prank, Cody

During the week, awareness was raised about a YouTuber by the name DaddyOfive (daddy ‘o five) and his large number of videos where he pranks his kids. However, the pranks are considered abuse as the dad (and his wife) verbally attack the kids to the point of tears. Physical assault by the kids on each other is encouraged and a vast majority of the pranks target one of the boys named Cody.

Bits of information in videos have led observers, people involved in child protective services and child psychologists to believe that Cody is displaying behavioural problems, possibly as a result of the abusive pranks. At times, the kid doesn’t know if he is being genuinely punished or if a prank is still happening.

All the videos have since been removed, but the internet never forgets (they are still out there if you google them or watch criticism videos on YouTube). In a video from last week, the mum and dad punished Cody for his behaviour: in a video the parents mentioned an incident involving poop on walls, but they later said (in an weak attempt to deflect criticism) that the toilet overflowed and they didn’t want to embarrass Cody. Apparently spreading poop on the floor and walls isn’t embarrassing, but a clogged toilet is? The punishment was that Cody stayed with his grandparents while the rest of the family went to Disney World.

It is hard to explain how horrific and heartbreaking it is watching the verbal and physcological abuse Cody and the others endured, just for views!
